Financial Services Law
In general terms, financial services law serves to govern the services and transactions of any person or institution that renders a financial service, such as investing, lending and management of money and assets. In South Africa, there are a myriad of laws that regulate the financial services environment, such as the Financial Services Board Act, 97 of 1990, the Pension Funds Act, 24 of 1956, the Financial Supervision of the Road Accident Fund Act, 8 of 1993, the Short-term Insurance Act, 53 of 1998, the Long-term Insurance Act, 52 of 1998, et al.
